How do you bill for services?
Lingo offers convenient online billing. Your billing cycle starts upon sign up. Your credit card is charged automatically on a monthly basis, based on this billing cycle. Your bill includes your next month’s subscription charge and any applicable charges from the previous month (including overage, international calling and directory assistance).
How long does it take Lingo to make a decision as to whether or not to grant a
All credit requests are reviewed as soon as possible, but you will generally receive a response within 72 hours. If the credit is approved it will appear on your next invoice.
Does Lingo have a Money Back Guarantee?
Lingo does not offer a Money Back Guarantee, however there is no risk to trying Lingo. Lingo offers a variety of plans without any contracts or minimum commitment terms. For plans that do have a term commitment, customers can cancel or change plans within 30 days. The first months fees and any out of plan usage would apply.
What if there is a problem with my credit card?
If your automatic monthly credit card payment cannot be processed for any reason, you will not see a payment item in the Billing History section of your online account. (Payments normally appear within 5-7 days of the date the invoice is available online.) If we do not receive payment within a reasonable amount of time, the account will be suspended your account. To avoid any interruption of service or late fees please make sure your credit card information is accurate and that funds are available. To update your credit card, simply login to the My Account Portal and go to Edit Profile.
How do I change my personal information?
You can change any of your personal information on your Lingo account by logging in to the Lingo My Account Portal. To access the portal, go to Lingo.com, click Login, then select Edit Profile.
Does Lingo charge late fees?
Lingo will make multiple attempts to charge any credit card that fails payment. If after repeated attempts a payment cannot be collected, your account is subject to a late fee of up to 1.5% (exact amount depends on your billing address). To avoid late fees it is important to make sure that all of your credit card information (including expiration date) is accurate. Just login to the My Account Portal on Lingo.com and go to Edit Profile to update your credit card information.
What should I do if my credit card is declined?
If your credit card fails payment, you need to update your credit card information for your Lingo account. Login to the My Account Portal on Lingo.com, then select Edit Profile. Click the Edit button next to any section, make the changes, and click Update to apply the changes. You can ensure a payment has been received by going to the Billing History which contains a Payment line item for each invoice. Payments are normally posted 5-7 days after the invoice is available online. Late payments are subject to late fees and potential suspension.
How do I change my credit card information?
You can update or change any of your credit card information on your Lingo account by logging in to the My Account Portal on Lingo.com. Select Edit Profile. Click the Edit button next to any section, make the changes, and click Update to apply the changes.
How do I change my billing address?
You can change your billing address on your Lingo account by logging in to the My Account Portal on Lingo.com. Select Edit Profile. Click on Edit and make any applicable changes. To apply the changes, simply press Update. Your billing address must always match the address on your monthly credit card statements.
Note: Your billing address is not the same as your Emergency Calling Services address. If you are moving, in addition to changing your billing address be sure to change your Emergency Services Address. See our FAQ on Emergency Services for more details.
Does Lingo send paper bills?
Lingo offers the convenience of online billing. You can always print copies of your phone bill if you require paper copies for your records. You can access your bills online by logging into the My Account Portal on Lingo.com, then select My Plan in the left side navigation, then Billing History.

What if the calling rates change?
Lingo may from time to time change the rates. We will provide you notice by e-mail of any rate changes to your plan. In most cases, we will attempt to provide at least 30 days notice of any rate increase. Current rates for most of our plans can be found on Lingo.com.
What is the Administrative, Regulatory, and Compliance Fee?
The Administrative, Regulatory, and Compliance Fee is a charge assessed by Lingo on most plans. It is designed to recover a portion of the taxes, fees, and cost of compliance with certain government imposed regulatory requirements. The Administrative, Regulatory and Compliance Fee is $2.99 per phone number per month. These charges, and what is included, are subject to change from time to time.
What types of costs is the Lingo service Administrative, Regulatory, and Compliance Fee intended to offset?
Costs intended to be offset by the Administrative, Regulatory, and Compliance Fee include costs incurred by our company associated with supporting services such as state or local universal service, providing disability access and certain state and local sales, use and telephone taxes.
If I have an international phone number with my Lingo service, why would I be charged
the Lingo Administrative, Regulatory, and Compliance Fee?
The costs and taxes which we incur are based on the service address to which we sent your Lingo box. They are incurred by our company whether you have a domestic or international phone number.
Why do you charge a Administrative, Regulatory, and Compliance Fee when VoIP is not regulated?
It is incorrect to say that VoIP service is not regulated. VoIP service is regulated by the Federal Communications Commission (“FCC”), but as an information service rather than as a telephone service. It is regulated in a different way than traditional telephone service. The FCC has also precluded state authorities from regulating certain aspects of VoIP services in the same way as traditional telephone services. However, the FCC has indicated that states may still impose certain requirements on VoIP providers and may continue to impose applicable sales, use and telephone taxes.
What is the Emergency Services Fee?
Lingo charges an Emergency Services fee for providing nationwide emergency 911 service in compliance with Federal and State regulations. The Emergency Service Fee is $1.99 per account per month and is separate from any state of locally mandated Emergency 911 charge.
Does Lingo charge customers the Federal Universal Service Fee ("USF")?
Universal Service Fee/Fund refers to a federal program that ensures that basic phone service is available in all areas of the country at affordable rates. Additionally, the Federal Universal Services Fee/Fund (USF) provides for discounted telecommunications services for schools, libraries and rural health-care facilities. All telecommunications providers are required to pay into the Federal USF, and their contributions may be recovered from customers. The Federal USF contribution percentage is reviewed and adjusted quarterly by the FCC. The USF rate for the first quarter of 2018 is 19.5%.
Does Lingo charge customers the Federal Program Fee?
Lingo charges the Federal Program fee on most plans. The Federal Program Fee is associated with the costs to administer Federal Programs. These programs include Telephone Relay Service Fund (trs) that supports facilities & services used to provide telecommunications services for individuals with hearing/speech disabilities. This fee also includes recovery for federal regulatory fee assessments and administrative costs.
The fee is as follows:
$1.48 or 5.9%, whichever is greater for residential accounts.
$2.49 or 5.9%, whichever is greater for business accounts.
What if I'm tax exempt?
If you have tax exempt status you must contact Lingo Customer Care to file the necessary paperwork with our office. Once this is complete you will not be required to pay the Federal Excise Tax. The Admistrative, Regulatory and Compliance Fee will still be applied.
